About Us:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a specialized area in the hospital that provides care to patients who are acutely and critically ill and who need closer and more advanced monitoring and care. The Intensive Care Unit at Ain Wazein Medical Village (AWMV) emphasizes a team-based approach to provide care in a closed-ICU system where highly trained critical care doctors lead a team of experienced professionals, which includes resident and fellow physicians, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, dieticians, and nurses. AWMV critical care doctors also work closely with doctors from many specialties, including anesthesiology, internal medicine, cardiovascular medicine, cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, neurology, nephrology, surgery and infectious disease.
The ICU supported by a 4-bed step down is designed and equipped by State-of-the-art medical equipment of highest standards with advanced monitoring systems that include invasive and noninvasive cardiac output monitoring, exhaled CO2 measurement and continuous 8 lead Electronic Encephalogram monitoring for neurologic and neurosurgical patients.
Services:
The ICU has 7 beds, and the embedded stroke unit 2 beds; fully equipped with specialized tools including; central station and wall monitor and providing a 24/7 care to patients. The unit along with its multi-disciplinary professional specialized team of physicians, nurses, psychologists, physical therapists, nutritionists, and social workers care for a high number of patients from various hometowns inside and outside Ain Wazein Medical Village’s catchment area.
